Аннотация
The article is devoted to the analysis of the theoretical and methodological foundations of multiculturalism in the transformation of national cultures in modern society. It examines the origin, formation and development of the concept of "multiculturalism", reveals that the processes of globalization intensify the interaction of different peoples and nations in different directions. It is shown that the global economy and the information world are becoming a key factor determining the present and future of national cultures, multicultural societies are sometimes formed on the basis of migration due to wars and other cataclysms. Multiculturalism is analyzed as an idea of socio-political resistance that protects a culture that has existed for centuries from attempts to assimilate or constrain it. In modern societies, which, on the one hand, manifest themselves as a kind of mixture of tradition and modernity, and on the other hand, more and more different nations and peoples, the principles of non-absolutized multiculturalism are presented as a solution to the problems of transforming national culture.
