This scientific article discusses the basics of route preparation in the electrical interlocking systems of stations on mixed roads. The fact that the movement of trains of different categories at the stations leads to time expectations in the technological processes at the stations. Therefore, in the preparation of routes in the electrical interlocking systems, depending on the type of movement of trains, and to avoid time delays in technological processes, the preparation of routes is carried out by introducing operating modes of interlocking systems. This is done by extending the approach sections to the station following the composition of each movement approaching the station. The extension of the approach sections is aimed at ensuring the safety of trains. It is also theoretically based on the possibility that the prevention and reduction of shortcomings in the preparation of routes to the rolling stock at the station by the station attendant can be based on the modeling of operating modes of electrical interlocking systems.
