THE WOLF IN THE ETHNOCULTURE OF THE UZBEK PEOPLE

Аннотация

At present, not only in the ethnology of Uzbekistan, but also in the ethnological science of Central Asia, scientists are faced with the task of a comprehensive study, analysis and generalization of the traditional way of life of indigenous peoples, traces of totemism, animism, magic, shamanism, fetishism associated with ancient religious ideas, such as scientific problem. It is known that the Turkic peoples have long had a special reverence for the totems of the wolf, horse, cow (bull), sheep, fish, snake. The customs, rituals, traditions and religious views of the Uzbek people associated with these totems have been preserved to this day in the traditional way of life. The article reveals the place of the image of the wolf in the history of the ethnological culture of the Uzbek people. The views of various scientists who reflected this problem in relation to the ethnoculture of other peoples, as well as materials from the field records of the author of the article, are analyzed. The role and place of the wolf is revealed, the use of some parts of his body in the treatment of diseases and in the expulsion of evil spirits according to popular beliefs.
