CYTOKINES ARE A KEY DOMINANT IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF INTRAUTERINE INFECTION OF THE FETUS
Аннотация
Intrauterine infection of the fetus is one of the most urgent problems of modern obstetrics and perinatology. The purpose of the study is to compare the level of cytokines in the venous blood of the mother, blood from the umbilical cord of the fetus, and at the same time in the amniotic fluid. Material sampling was carried out using invasive methods, such as cordocentesis and amniocentesis in pregnant women of a high infectious risk group. An increased level of the cytokine interleukin-1β serves as a diagnostic test for an existing intrauterine infection. A decrease in the level of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 in the blood plasma of a pregnant woman is interpreted as an unfavorable sign indicating the presence of intrauterine infection and a rather increased degree of its implementation in the intrauterine fetus. A particularly important marker of intrauterine infection of the fetus is the level of the cytokine interleukin-1β.
