Аннотация
Grafted biopolymers are natural materials, biodegradable, non-toxic, non-volatile, and recyclable compounds. These compounds are used as a super sorbent for heavy ions, separation from the aqueous systems, separation from non-aqueous systems, enantioselective membranes, gas separation membranes, and drug delivery. This chapter illustrates the preparation methods of biopolymers, synthesis, and characterizations of grafted polysaccharides, graft copolymers, gum acacia, alginate, cellulose, grafted chitosan derivatives (phosphorylated chitosan, N-phthaloylated, cross-linked chitosan derivatives, chitosan methacrylate derivatives, targeted chitosan modification).
