Carbon Allotropes in Carbon Dioxide Capturing
Аннотация
Carbon dioxide gas is a serious problem in the modern era. Reducing its content is a crucial significant issue in the modern material and engineering sciences. Currently, carbon allotropes are recommended as excellent agents in carbon dioxide capturing. In this book chapter, the basic properties, types, synthesis methods, and mechanical, chemical and physical properties of carbon allotropes in carbon dioxide capturing were reviewed and discussed. These materials are supercapacitors for carbon dioxide. Carbon allotropes are good adsorbents for various gas: CO 2 (76.5 mg g −1 at 298 K), CH 4 (16.8 mg g −1 at 298 K) and H 2 (12.1 mg g −1 at 77 K). The selectivity of carbon allotropes for carbon dioxide capturing is high, confirming that this material effectively adsorbs the carbon dioxide from the gas mixtures (landfill gas, biogas and natural gas, etc.). In future research work, this chapter should be useful in the development of carbon-based materials for carbon dioxide capturing.
