Detection of Interturn Fault in DFIG Using Zero-Sequence Voltage Component
Аннотация
The doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) has been widely applied in wind power generation systems in recent decades, particularly owing to its unique capability to operate at variable speed conditions. However, the wind turbines normally operate under harsh weather conditions and unanticipated faults may easily happen in the DFIG which may lead to catastrophic outcomes. Stator inter-turn short circuit (ITSC) fault is one of the most common occurring faults in DFIG and needs to be diagnosed at the earliest stage to avoid complete short circuit hazards. This paper proposes a zero-sequence voltage (ZSV) based method for the diagnosis of the ITSC fault in the DFIG at the early stage. The mathematical model of the DFIG with ITSC fault in stator has been implemented and the simulations are carried out in MATLAB/Simulink environment. A simple but robust algorithm has been presented for fault severity assessment and position identification. The simulation results verify that the proposed algorithm could successfully detect the ITSC fault and identify fault position in DFIG stator winding.
