Аннотация

Relevance. On the one hand, infectious lesions of the skeleton belong to the competence of several medical specialties. In surgery and traumatology/ orthopedics, they are designated by specific terms: osteomyelitis, arthritis or osteoarthritis, which means that osteoarthritis is osteomyelitis (arthritis, osteoarthritis) caused by a certain pathogen. Consequently, the principles of management of this pathology lie on the verge of surgery (traumatology/orthopedics) and phthisiology, the balance between which is the key to successful treatment. According to the course and morphological features (mainly necrotic process, prone to sequestration), bone tuberculosis should be attributed to specific primary chronic osteomyelitis.
