Assessment of the influence of the green economy on sustainable development: bibliometric approach

Abstract Researchers from all over the world especially from industrialized countries increasingly began to write about the possibilities of the green economy in the sustainable development of countries. The most popular journals, the top authors, the top-cited papers, the top countries, and major subject areas were investigated using a bibliometric analytic approach based on Scopus databases. The analysis revealed a sharp jump of the number of relevant publications and that more than a quarter of articles are devoted to the environmental science. The implementation of the proposed ideas of the researchers is an important factor and the state and the business environment play a major role in this. The role of international investment projects and the participation of the private sector in the development of a green economy are becoming increasingly relevant.
