The Study OF A Vegetarian Three Diet in Preventing Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 (Non-Insulin Dependent) AND Obesity

The role of vegetarian diets in chronic disease prevention has garnered significant attention in recent years, particularly regarding their impact on diabetes management and obesity reduction. This study involving 15 patients diagnosed with DM Type 2(non-insulin dependent) and 5 individuals classified as overweight according to their BMI exposed the effects of adopting a vegetarian diet. The findings revealed the participants experienced notable improvements in glycaemic control, with reductions in Fasting blood Glucose levels and HbA1, indicating better long-term blood sugar management. Moreover, the vegetarian diet's emphasis on whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and whole grains contributes high Fibre intake and lower levels of saturated fats. This dietary composition not only promotes satiety but also aids in weight loss and maintenance of essential factors for individuals struggling with obesity. Participants in the study reported increased energy levels and improved overall wellbeing, further highlighting the benefits of plant-based nutrition. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory properties of many vegetarian foods may play a crucial role in reducing the risk of complications associated with diabetes and obesity. By minimizing processed food and incorporating nutrients dense options, individuals can enhance their metabolic health and decrease insulin resistance. The article discusses the potential of vegetarian diets as an effective strategy for preventing and managing chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
