Аннотация

Drama and role-play activities have been proved to be powerful tools in language acquisition, as they provide learners with dynamic, immersive, and contextually meaningful experiences. Unlike traditional teaching methods that emphasize rote learning, these approaches integrate linguistic skills with creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. This article discusses the benefits of applying drama and role-play activities in English teaching, including the development of communicative competence, reduction of language anxiety, and cultivation of cultural sensitivity. Additionally, this article highlights practical strategies such as classroom skits, improvisation games, real-world simulations, and literature-based performances, which foster collaboration, spontaneity, and confidence among learners. The article also underlines the importance of extending these activities obeyond the classroom through community-based engagements, multimedia projects, and theater visits. By using the interactive and experiential nature of drama, educators can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, inspiring students to actively engage with the language and excel in their learning journey.
