Smart Tourism using Artificial Intelligence empowered Augmented Reality for Personalization In Travel Experiences

Smart tourism integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) to enhance travelers' experiences through personalization and immersive interactions. By leveraging AI-powered AR, tourism can offer real-time, context-aware recommendations and interactive digital content, enriching user engagement. The proposed Smart Tourism using AI with AR (ST- AI-AR) framework combines AI-driven data analytics with AR- based immersive visualization. AI personalizes travel recommendations by analyzing user behavior, preferences, and real-time location data, while AR enhances experiences through interactive digital overlays on real-world environments. This synergy resolves issues of static information and lack of customization in traditional tourism methods. By implementing the ST-AI-AR framework, tourists receive personalized itineraries, cultural insights, and interactive guidance, enriching their exploration with dynamic and adaptive digital content. The system ensures an engaging and informed travel experience. Findings indicate that AI-powered AR significantly improves user engagement, satisfaction, and knowledge retention. The proposed method transforms tourism into a highly adaptive, immersive, and personalized journey, enhancing the overall travel experience.
