In the article, modern directions and methods of developing pedagogical competences of students in higher education and the possibilities of increasing its efficiency, theoretical bases and methods of forming pedagogical competences of students and the possibilities of their application in practice, problems and solutions encountered in the process of developing pedagogical competences, knowledge of pedagogical theory and methodology that are components of pedagogical competences, skills, practical abilities necessary for the implementation of pedagogical activities, qualifications, the ability to independently and effectively perform complex pedagogical tasks, personal qualities, pedagogue's responsibility, balance, creativity, methods of formation and development of pedagogical competencies of students, expansion of theoretical knowledge, pedagogy, psychology, methodology, active participation in pedagogical internships and trainings in educational institutions, reflection and cooperation, analysis of the educational process and improvement of one's own activities, use of modern technologies are interpreted.
