Аннотация

Тhis article analyzes how economic regions were created across the country within a single republic or by merging several republics. Since Transcaucasia, the Baltics, and Central Asia united several republics, they were called “large economic regions.” The Greater Central Asian Economic Region, with its center in the city of Tashkent, was one of the main important economic regions of the USSR, which included four republics connected to each other not only by natural conditions, but also by geographical location: the Uzbek SSR, the Kirghiz SSR, the Tajik SSR, and the Turkmen SSR. In addition, the article discusses the specific features of the national economies of the republics that were part of the Greater Central Asian Economic Region. For example, several key economic sectors developed in the Central Asian Economic Region, which were determined by the natural resources and historical conditions of the region. The main ones included: agriculture: the region was famous for its production of cotton, fruits, and vegetables. Industry, which included heavy industry such as metallurgy and mechanical engineering, as well as the national economy, which played one of the key roles. These industries formed the economic basis of the Central Asian region, contributing to its development during the Soviet period and continue to be important in modern conditions. The national economy played one of the key roles in the large Central Asian economic region.
