Аннотация

This article explores how nonverbal ways of expressing ourselves change in the online communication world, focusing on both linguopragmatic and semiotic viewpoints. In traditional face-to-face communication, mimics, gestures, and body language matter greatly. However, these are now often replaced by nonverbal tools like emojis, stickers, gifs, font styles, and punctuation in today’s digital exchanges. The study looked at the online group "Men ayolman" (I am a woman), analyzing the emoji reactions of 400 active users to a specific post on Facebook. The article reveals the emotional, semantic, and pragmatic roles of emojis and how their meanings can vary across different cultural settings. The findings indicate that emojis and other nonverbal forms add emotional variety to online interactions, make conversations more lively, and help build social connections. Still, varying interpretations of certain emojis and graphics can lead to confusion in communication. The article emphasizes the linguopragmatic aspects of these nonverbal expressions in digital communication, investigating their effects on communication effectiveness and their transformations in different cultural and social contexts. The study's results highlight the crucial need to analyze nonverbal expressions in the online environment within modern linguistics and communication.
