Multimodal Image Registration for Precise Fusion in Biomedical Imaging
Аннотация
Multimodal image registration is a computer-established process of aligning (or fusing) pictures of different kinds of imaging to bring a more detailed and comprehensive portrayal of the scanned item. The diagnostic imaging is an important component of patient care. The precise combination of several image modalities (MRI, CT, and PET, etc.) may give a more accurate idea of the complex medical conditions and, by extension, enable a more focused and accurate treatment. Multimodal image registration is however very complicated, due to the special resolution, contrast and noise. This remains as a challenge, and advanced computational methods of precise multimodal image registration have emerged. They use mathematical algorithms and machine learning to support the search of matched points and deformations between the images and get content alignment and mapping in the photos. Multimodal image registration advantages are also better diagnostic quality, better treatment planning, decreased patient discomfort and radiation exposure, and more visualization of anatomic structures.
