DISINFORMATION, FACT-CHECKING AND USER CONTENT ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE SITE FAKTCHECKER.UZ OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

The article examines the phenomenon of disinformation in the digital age and the role of fact-checking in combating the spread of false information. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of user content using the example of the Uzbek fact-checking website Faktchecker.uz. The main methods of information verification used on the platform, as well as the impact of disinformation on public opinion and digital literacy of users are examined. The author analyzes examples of exposed fakes and their distribution in the media space of Uzbekistan. The algorithms of fact-checkers, their interaction with users and the level of audience trust in verified information are considered. The article emphasizes the importance of media literacy and critical thinking in the context of information overload. The findings of the study highlight the need for institutional support for fact-checking initiatives and the development of effective strategies to counter disinformation in Uzbekistan.
