How INFJ Personality Influences Motivation and Strategies in Multilingual Learning
Аннотация
In multilingual learning, personality traits play a vital role in shaping how individuals engage with and succeed. This paper examines the intersection between the INFJ personality type and the strategies and motivations used in acquiring multiple languages. Drawing on a small-scale qualitative and quantitative exploration of seven confirmed INFJ participants, the study synthesizes insights from personality theory, motivation research, and applied linguistics. Findings indicate that INFJs are predominantly intrinsically motivated, prefer reflective and culturally immersive learning strategies, and respond positively to meaningful, purpose-oriented educational environments. Pedagogical implications are discussed, with recommendations for language educators working with personality-driven learners.
