Аннотация

This article examines the linguo-pragmatic mechanisms of derogatory humour in British anecdotes and contrasts them with the communicative and cultural objectives outlined in the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy. The analysis demonstrates that the stereotypes, social hierarchies, and irony typical of British humorous discourse differ significantly from the respectful, ethical, and community-oriented communication values promoted in Uzbekistan’s current reform agenda.
