Resume. Sufficient attention has been paid to the problem of prostate pathology and fibrotic changes in lung tissue, but the morphological and morphometric aspects of studying this problem are clearly insufficient. The lack of information on the morphometric changes of the prostate gland in pulmonary fibrosis requires further research. Level of study of the problem. A serious consequence of acute periods of pandemic-like COVID-19 infection is the development of interstitial pneumonia, which can lead to fibrosis and pneumosclerosis of the lungs. Analysis of patients with COVID-19 in hospital-to-home responses shows a high incidence of pulmonary dysfunction due to fibrosis and pneumosclerosis. According to the literature of Russian scientists, 47% of patients have a violation of the gas exchange mechanism, 25% have a decrease in the total vital capacity of the lungs, which impairs the vital activity and vitality of the body. The review and analysis of the available literature showed that there is no information about the morphological changes in different areas and tissues of the prostate during pulmonary fibrosis. There is also no information about the morphofunctional changes that occur at different stages of pulmonary fibrosis. All of the above requires a detailed study of the morphological processes in the prostate gland that occur during pulmonary fibrosis. Key words: prostate gland, fibrosis, morphology, histology.
