This article examines the legal, social, and cultural status of the Uzbek language, as well as the formation, development, and major representatives of Uzbekistan’s national literature. The Uzbek language, as the state language of the Republic of Uzbekistan, plays a crucial role in preserving national identity, strengthening cultural unity, and ensuring continuity of historical memory. Particular attention is paid to the position of the Uzbek language within the Turkic language family, its historical development, changes in writing systems, and the improvement of state language policy during the years of independence. In addition, the article provides a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of Uzbek national literature from ancient written sources to modern literary works. The creative heritage of outstanding literary figures such as Alisher Navoi, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, Ogahiy, Furqat, Abdulla Qodiriy, Cholpon, and Fitrat is highlighted, emphasizing their contribution to the enrichment of the Uzbek literary language and the expression of national consciousness. Their works reflect themes of patriotism, moral values, social justice, and devotion to the homeland. The article also explores the distinctive features of contemporary Uzbek literature, focusing on the artistic representation of independence, human rights, national values, and the challenges of globalization. Special emphasis is placed on the close interconnection between language and literature, demonstrating their vital role in educating younger generations in the spirit of patriotism and cultural awareness. The findings of the study contribute to a deeper understanding of the prestige of the Uzbek language and the significant role of national literature in the cultural and spiritual life of society.
