Аннотация
In Uzbek fiction, defeated expectation—where expected narrative results defy reader expectations—is a powerful technique that combines aesthetic surprise with practical moral lesson. This study examines how it is used in canonical works by Abdulla Qodiriy and Chulpon, showing how it reinforces ethical principles from Eastern Peripatetic philosophy while evoking catharsis. Results show that it plays a dual role in cultural pragmatics and aesthetic disturbance, with consequences for Uzbek literary teaching.
