THE PLACE OF LANDSCAPE IN LITERATURE

This article deals with the issue of landscape in fiction and its means of expression. The descriptive and psychological function of landscape is emphasized and analyzed using examples from the stories of Franz Hohler, a representative of modern Swiss literature. Special attencion is paid to the fact that landscape is also presented as a hero in fiction.
