Language change is a complex and complicated phenomenon that is shaped by a range of social, cultural, cognitive, and typological factors. This study provides a comprehensive review of the literature on language change, examining the social, cultural, cognitive, and typological factors that drive language evolution. Moreover, it draws on sociolinguistic theory, language contact theory, and language typology to explore the mechanisms and motivations of language change. The findings of this study contribute to our understanding of language change and have implications for language teaching, language policy, and language planning.
