Chronic fatigue among English language teachers at secondary schools in Uzbekistan

Аннотация

Teacher well-being is becoming a big concern in education research, as teaching conditions have become more demanding in many countries. One of the most serious but underestimated problems which is affecting teachers is chronic fatigue. Chronic fatigue is a long-term physical and mental exhaustion that does not disappear after short periods of rest. It does not look like temporary stress, chronic fatigue develops gradually and is closely connected with permanent job demands, emotional strain, and limited rest time. In secondary education, the teachers have heavy workloads and increasing accountability. Chronic fatigue has become a systemic problem rather than individual weakness.
