Multifunctional Magnetic Nanoparticles in Air Pollution Control

Air pollution is a widespread problem that has substantial detrimental impacts on both human health and the environment. Multifunctional magnetic nanoparticles (MMNPs) offer a novel approach to address air pollution by virtue of their distinctive attributes, such as a large surface area, adjustable surface chemistry, and magnetic capabilities. This chapter examines the uses of MMNPs in different air pollution control scenarios, including indoor air purification systems, industrial emission controls, automobile exhaust treatment, and waste gas treatment in power plants. In addition, the difficulties and restrictions associated with the stability, reusability, and potential ecological and health consequences of MMNPs, as well as economic factors and expandability, were discussed. Additionally, the latest developments in MMNP research, their incorporation with other methods of air pollution reduction, and the policy and regulatory factors that influence their implementation were examined. The prospects for the use of MMNPs in air pollution management appear to be optimistic, since continuous progress and supportive frameworks are facilitating the creation of cleaner and healthier surroundings.
