An In-Depth Study on Enhancing the Effectiveness of ICT in CLT Through Mixed Method Research From Teachers' Perspectives

The study aims to investigate English teachers' awareness of using different applications for personal and professional purposes at the secondary level, and explore the measures needed to adopt to enhance ICT's effectiveness in CLT. A mixed-method research design was employed to answer the research questions. In the first phase of the study, a random sampling technique was used to collect the data from the teacher participants of Bangladesh. In the second phase, a semi-structured interview was conducted to identify the dominant theme of this study. Results indicate that majority of the teacher participants are aware of using ICT materials for personal and professional purposes. The findings of the study reveal teacher participants' expectation from the school authorities for incorporating ICT in their classroom language teaching. Thus, the study provides meaningful insights for policymakers, stakeholders, and authorities to take timely necessary initiatives for the successful implementation of ICT in classroom language teaching.
