Аннотация

Corrosion is a major concern in many industries, causing significant economic losses and safety hazards. Understanding the many types of industrial corrosive environments is critical for selecting suitable materials and implementing successful corrosion control measures. This chapter presents a detailed review of many types of industrial corrosive environments organized by impacting factors such as gases, liquids, solids, temperature, pressure, and microbes. It delves into various settings, like atmospheric, aqueous, and microbiologically induced corrosion analyzing their properties and challenges. Real-world case studies demonstrate the practical applications of corrosion in various industrial contexts. The chapter emphasizes the need to recognize the specific corrosive environment to reduce its influence and maintain the safe and efficient functioning of industrial facilities.
