Аннотация

Green deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as a sustainable and versatile alternative to traditional organic solvents for the extraction of bioactive compounds from food, medicinal plants, and agricultural waste. Their tunable properties, environmental benignity, and ability to enhance solubility and selectivity make them a promising tool in green extraction technologies. This chapter discusses the key challenges and future directions in DES-based extraction, including solubility issues, cost and scalability concerns, and the optimization of extraction conditions. Innovations in DES formulations, such as task-specific DES, and the integration of DES with green technologies like microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) and ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), are explored. The potential for DES in industrial applications and their commercial scalability are also highlighted. As research continues to evolve, DESs hold great potential to revolutionize industrial extraction processes by providing an eco-friendly, efficient, and sustainable alternative to conventional solvents.
