Аннотация

The article provides a comprehensive conceptual and cultural analysis of legal terminology in English and Russian in terms of contrastive linguocultural approach. The formation of legal concepts, their lexical and semantic structures, and the ways in which they reflect the cultural and legal realia of the two countries are considered. The focus is made on revealing conceptual differences arising from legal traditions, the historical development of legislation, and linguistic specificity. The application of lexical and semantic analysis, as well as the methods of legal hermeneutics and contrastive linguistics enabled to trace semantic shifts and difficulties in translating terms, as well as their impact on the legal information interoperability. Of particular importance is the consideration of the cultural context, which shapes different interpretation of the same legal concepts in the English and Russian legal systems. The results of the study can be used in materials design, in the improvement of legal translation, as well as for comparative legal analysis and the development of a unified terminology database. The article will be of interest to linguists, translators, lawyers, and comparative law specialists seeking a deeper understanding of the relationship between language, culture, and law, as well as the practical application of contrastive analysis in legal communication. Key words: legal terminology, linguocultural approach, conceptual analysis, cultural analysis, contrastive linguistics, legal hermeneutics, lexical-semantic analysis, interoperability.
