Methodology for Developing Oral Speech Skills through Game-Based Learning Technology in English Lessons (Based on 5–6 Grade Students)
Аннотация
This article analyzes the methodology for developing oral speech skills through game-based learning technology in English lessons, based on 5–6 grade students. Developing communicative competence at the middle school level is considered an essential pedagogical objective. Game-based learning corresponds to the psychological characteristics of young learners, increases their motivation, and enhances speaking activity in the classroom. The study highlights methodological principles for implementing role-plays, didactic games, interactive group activities, and digital game elements. Special attention is given to creating a language-rich environment, assessment criteria, and reflective practices in speaking development. The findings indicate that game-based instruction significantly improves students’ vocabulary range, pronunciation accuracy, and ability to express ideas independently in a foreign language. Furthermore, game-based activities promote collaboration, social interaction, and confidence building among learners, reducing speaking anxiety. The article also presents observational data and comparative analysis demonstrating that structured game integration leads to higher engagement and more effective communicative outcomes compared to traditional approaches. The proposed methodology is recommended as an innovative, learner-centered, and practically oriented strategy for improving oral communication skills.
