The study is grounded in contemporary approaches to foreign language learning and vocabulary instruction. It draws upon the concept of communicative competence proposed by Dell Hymes (1972) and further developed by Lyle F. Bachman (1990), as well as the framework of communicative competence discussed by Michael Canale and Merrill Swain (1980). These theoretical perspectives form the foundation for examining effective communication and vocabulary development in foreign language education.The research was conducted using a combination of methodological approaches, including data analysis, theoretical review, the design of a teaching model, and experimental classroom implementation. The proposed model incorporates innovative instructional strategies such as experiential learning, collaborative communication among students, and the integration of game-based elements to facilitate language acquisition and enhance communicative skills.To evaluate the effectiveness of the model, an experimental study was carried out with university students who were not majoring in foreign languages. The findings indicate that the application of innovative teaching methods significantly improves students’ vocabulary acquisition, encourages more active communication among learners, and increases their motivation to study foreign languages.The results of the study provide practical insights into more effective approaches to foreign language instruction in higher education. Moreover, the proposed concepts can be applied in curriculum design, teacher training programs, and the development of instructional materials for language classes, thereby supporting educators in improving the quality of foreign language teaching at universities.
