A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH

This thesis is devoted to the topic “A Comparative Analysis of Phraseological Units in Uzbek and English”, which provides a comparative analysis of the structural, semantic and pragmatic features of phraseological units in Uzbek and English. The main goal of the study is to determine the formation, use and cultural foundations of phraseologisms in languages ​​belonging to two different language families. Uzbek belongs to the Turkic group of languages, and English belongs to the Germanic family of languages, and their grammatical structure and lexical system differ significantly. Nevertheless, phraseological units in both languages ​​reflect the historical experience, mentality and cultural values ​​of the people. Linguistic descriptive and comparative methods were used in the research process. The results obtained showed that phraseological units are an important part of the language system and require special attention in the translation process.
