Physical and technological properties of carbon steels using gas welding
Аннотация
The article discusses the physical and technological properties of carbon steels, as well as the mechanical properties of welds, the mitigation of residual internal stresses through the application of localized heat treatment, structural analysis of welds subsequent to heat treatment, and the influence of resistance of welded joints made of St3, St10, St20, and 09G2S steels. Chemical analysis and metallographic examination of laboratory samples are performed. Welding techniques and the appearance of the welded joint are described, as well as the nozzle inclination angle during welding as a function of metal thickness. Metallographic analysis of welds and the near-weld zone, and the redistribution of residual stresses within welded joints, is also examined. The results reflecting microstructural (metallographic) modifications in the surface layers of welded joint regions are shown in the welds and fusion zone. It was found that during gas welding, residual internal stresses in welded joints made of St3, St10, St20, and 09G2S steels are redistributed into tensile and compressive stresses.
