Аннотация
This paper traces the evolutionary line from the Japanese butsudan (Buddhist altar) as a communication interface with the dead, through the infamous 'Butsudan Mac' phenomenon of Japan's early PC era, to the OSI (Other Side Interface) — arguing that Japan is uniquely culturally prepared to accept AI-mediated dialogue with the deceased as a natural continuation of an ancient practice.
