RISK FACTORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF OBSTRUCTIVE SYNDROME IN CHILDREN WITH ACUTE RESPIRATORY VIRAL INFECTIONS
Аннотация
Studied were 165 children aged 1 to 12 years with acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI). All children underwent standard clinical, laboratory, and instrumental examinations in accordance with clinical guidelines for the treatment of ARVI. The diagnosis of ARVI was confirmed using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. Additionally, serum levels of cortisol as well as α- and γ-interferons (IFN-α and IFN-γ) were determined. All children were divided into two groups depending on the presence (Group 1) or absence (Group 2) of obstructive syndrome during the acute phase of ARVI. For early prediction of this syndrome, the following factors are recommended to be considered: a history of frequent recurrent respiratory infections, low levels of IFN-α and cortisol, a disease course accompanied by subfebrile fever, elevated hemoglobin levels, and low RDW and MPV values.
