Аннотация
This article examines the way of life and charitable deeds of Sufi women. It discusses how the descriptions of enlightened, patient, steadfast, and strong-willed ʿārifa women—firm in worship and piety—are presented in the Qur’an and in the histories of the Prophets. The qualities of Sufi women are also reflected in rare masterpieces of classical literature. In particular, through works such as Fariduddin Attar’s Tazkirat al-Awliya, Abdurahman Jami’s Nafahat al-Uns, Alisher Navoi’s Nasayim al-Muhabbat, and Sufi Olloyar’s Sabot al-Ojizin, the article analyzes references to ʿārifa women who attained the spiritual rank of Sufism
