CLINICAL COURSE OF BURN DISEASE IN ELDERLY AND SENILE PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC DIFFUSE LIVER DISEASES
Аннотация
Resume. Background: Burn disease is associated with severe systemic inflammatory response, metabolic disturbances, and multiple organ dysfunction. Aim: To investigate the clinical features, complications, and outcomes of burn disease in elderly and senile patients with chronic diffuse liver diseases. Materials and Methods: A comparative clinical study was conducted involving 100 elderly and senile patients with burn disease. Patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 – patients with burn disease and chronic diffuse liver diseases (n=50); Group 2 – patients with burn disease without liver pathology (n=50). Clinical parameters, laboratory liver function tests, severity scores (SOFA), complications, and mortality rates were analyzed. Results: Patients with chronic diffuse liver diseases demonstrated significantly higher levels of bilirubin, ALT, and AST, more pronounced intoxication syndrome, higher incidence of multiple organ failure, and increased mortality compared to the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Chronic diffuse liver diseases significantly worsen the clinical course and prognosis of burn disease in elderly and senile patients and should be considered an independent risk factor. Keywords: burn disease, elderly patients, chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, liver failure.
