Аннотация

Soft tissue trauma of the birth canal is one of the most common complications of vaginal delivery and represents a significant factor affecting women’s health in the postpartum period. The aim of this review was to analyze contemporary literature (2020–2026) on the impact of perineal and vaginal injuries on quality of life and to evaluate current approaches to rehabilitation and prevention. The review included randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, clinical studies, and guidelines addressing pelvic floor dysfunction, postpartum complications, and recovery strategies. The findings indicate that soft tissue injuries are associated with a high prevalence of pelvic floor disorders, including urinary and fecal incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction, leading to a substantial decline in physical, psychological, and social well-being. Modern evidence supports the effectiveness of early, structured, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation, particularly pelvic floor muscle training and physiotherapy interventions, in improving functional outcomes and quality of life. Preventive strategies, including individualized obstetric management and antenatal interventions, also contribute to reducing the severity of trauma and improving recovery. However, challenges remain in standardizing rehabilitation protocols and implementing personalized care. A patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach is essential for optimizing long-term outcomes and enhancing quality of life in women after childbirth.
