Аннотация

This article is devoted to the concept, role and place of homonyms in the modern Karakalpak language. The interest in homonymy has been and remains relevant throughout the history of the science of language and is explained by the complex nature of this phenomenon, which requires a comprehensive study in lexica-semantic, grammatical and word-forming aspects. The meaning of a word is determined by the entire lexical and semantic system of the language as a whole and is the result of reflecting a socially conscious, objective reality. Homonymy, as the most problematic phenomenon in language, has become the main object of study in semantics. Homonyms are words that have the same form but are not related in meaning. The phenomenon of coincidence in the form of unrelated words is called homonyms: Alma 'apple' and alma 'do not take'.
