Bringing Robotics into the Elementary School Classroom to Enhance Dynamic, Innovative, and Concrete Learning Environments in the 21st Century: A Systematic Review
Аннотация
Abstract The use of robots in elementary schools significantly enhances the development of dynamic and innovative learning environments in the 21st century. This study aims to analyze and explore various research publications that investigate how to bring robotics into elementary school classrooms to enhance dynamic, innovative, and concrete learning environments in the 21st century. The systematic review method rigorously examines, evaluates, analyzes, and interprets all study results related to the research subject. We obtained publications from three databases: Scopus, Web of Science, and Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), as well as Google Scholar, covering the period from 2013 to 2024. The results of the study indicate that robotics can serve as a powerful catalyst in elementary education, creating a more engaging, effective, and future-ready learning environment. The review concluded that while there are significant challenges in adding robotics to elementary education, the benefits-such as improved understanding, increased student interest, and the development of essential modern skills-far outweigh these difficulties, paving the way for new teaching and learning methods. The article suggests that bringing robotics into elementary classrooms has tremendous potential to create vibrant, innovative, and hands-on learning environments, helping students prepare for the challenges of the 21st century.
