Аннотация

This article examines the cultural symbolism of color terms in toponymy through a comparative analysis of Uzbek and English linguistic landscapes. Relying on uploaded sources in Uzbek and English toponymy, the study explores how color-based place names function not merely as geographical labels but also as carriers of historical memory, cultural perception, ethnic experience, and cognitive categorization. In Uzbek toponymy, color terms such as oq "white", qora "black", qizil "red", and ko'k "blue/green" often participate in naming patterns that reflect physical features, settlement history, tribal associations, ideological layers, and local ways of conceptualizing space.
