Аннотация

Diabetes mellitus is considered one of the most significant metabolic diseases that negatively affects the cardiovascular system. Diabetic cardiomyopathy is a structural and functional disorder of the myocardium that develops independently of arterial hypertension or coronary artery disease. This article analyzes the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of diabetic cardiomyopathy, including oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammatory mediators, glucotoxicity, and lipotoxicity and their effects on cardiac muscle tissue. In addition, the pathogenesis of the disease and modern diagnostic approaches are discussed.
