Linguistic And Cultural Competence Integration In English Language Education: Modern Approaches, Theoretical Perspectives And Global Trends
Аннотация
The article investigates the integration of linguistic and cultural competence in English language education within the context of globalization and intercultural communication. Modern language education requires learners not only to acquire grammatical and lexical knowledge but also to understand sociocultural norms, values, and communicative behavior associated with the target language. The study analyzes theoretical perspectives developed by Western, CIS, and Uzbek scholars concerning the relationship between language and culture. Special attention is devoted to intercultural communicative competence, linguoculturology, linguistic relativity, and comparative cultural analysis. The article also explores the role of international educational frameworks such as CEFR, UNESCO initiatives, Erasmus+, and OECD Global Competence Framework in promoting intercultural education. The findings indicate that integrating linguistic and cultural competence contributes significantly to communicative effectiveness, intercultural sensitivity, critical thinking, and global citizenship. The study concludes that cultural integration should become a central methodological principle in modern foreign language teaching.
