Аннотация

This article examines the philosophical foundations of Niccolò Machiavelli’s political views, focusing on the relationship between power, morality, human nature, the state, historical experience and political necessity. The relevance of the topic is determined by the continuing influence of Machiavelli’s ideas on modern political theory, state governance and the concept of political realism. The article analyzes Machiavelli’s departure from classical and medieval political thought, in which politics was traditionally subordinated to moral and theological norms. Special attention is paid to the concepts of virtù, fortuna, political prudence, civic freedom and the preservation of the state. The study shows that Machiavelli did not simply justify cruelty or deception, as is often assumed, but attempted to reveal the real mechanisms of political life in conditions of instability, conflict and human ambition. His philosophy is based on the idea that political action must be evaluated not only by abstract moral principles, but also by its ability to protect the state, preserve public order and ensure collective survival. The article concludes that Machiavelli’s political philosophy represents one of the first systematic attempts to understand politics as an autonomous sphere of human activity governed by its own logic, risks and responsibilities.
