Аннотация

A comprehensive clinical-dental and laboratory investigation was conducted among 299 children and adolescents, including: 6–9 years old — 102 participants; 10–13 years old — 100 participants; 14–18 years old — 97 participants. According to sex distribution, the study included: 168 boys; 131 girls. Among the examined participants: 143 children with cerebral palsy constituted the main group; 156 children without somatic pathology formed the control group. In children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, pronounced negative changes and clinically significant indicators were identified in: morphometric structure of craniofacial bones and muscles; dentoalveolar arches; dental tissues; anthropometric characteristics of the skeletal and muscular systems. The obtained findings demonstrate that congenital cerebral palsy substantially influences development and functional condition of the maxillofacial region and contributes to increased prevalence of dental pathology.
