MUSEUMS AS INSTITUTIONAL CENTERS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF NATIONAL CULTURE AND CULTURAL HERITAGE

This study examines the formation, developmental stages, and scientific as well as cultural activities of the State Museum of History and Culture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The main purpose of the research is to determine the museum’s role in preserving and promoting national cultural heritage. The study employs historical-analytical, comparative, and systematic approaches, as well as archival materials and scholarly sources. The findings demonstrate that the museum serves as an important scientific center for preserving, studying, and presenting the historical and cultural heritage of the region to the public. The richness of its collections and the materials gathered through scientific expeditions establish the museum as a significant scholarly source. The study concludes that the museum is not only an institution for safeguarding heritage, but also an important institutional center engaged in scientific research and spiritual-educational activities.
