Determination of Radioactive Elements in Dust Storm Aerosols In Tashkent

Dust storms are significant natural phenomena capable of transporting radioactive isotopes and heavy metals over long distances. They play an important role in the dispersion of radioactive substances in the environment. Dust particles have the ability to carry and accumulate radionuclides such as radon and radium, which may subsequently pose a potential risk to the environment. The determination of the activity of radionuclides 222Rn, 226Ra, and 238U during dust storm events in Tashkent is of great importance for monitoring the radiological conditions in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
