SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL STIGMA ON THE PSYCHOEMOTIONAL STATE OF WOMEN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED FAMILY VIOLENCE

ABI

Аннотация

This thesis examines the socio-psychological features through which social stigma affects the psychoemotional state of women who have experienced family violence. The problem is important because violence in intimate and family relations is not limited to the direct traumatic act: after disclosure or separation, many women face blaming attitudes, distrust, isolation, moral judgement and pressure to preserve family reputation. Such reactions create a secondary injury that may intensify fear, shame, guilt, depressive mood, anxiety, emotional exhaustion and distrust toward social institutions. The purpose of the thesis is to analyse stigma as a social-psychological mechanism that mediates the connection between family violence and women’s psychoemotional vulnerability. The work relies on theoretical analysis, comparative interpretation of scientific literature and a socio-psychological approach to trauma, gender norms, social support and coping
