Building Interoperable Digital Trade Ecosystems
Аннотация
Global trade has grown more complex, increasing the need for transparency, sustainability, and faster border processes. This chapter explains how regional integration enables interoperable digital trade ecosystems that support secure data exchange, synchronized inspections, and harmonized procedures. Technologies such as blockchain, AI, IoT, and digital identities enhance real-time visibility, automated checks, and trust across borders. Recent EU and ASEAN initiatives show how e-certificates, product passports, and national single windows reduce delays and strengthen compliance. The chapter also identifies challenges, including digital readiness gaps, regulatory differences, and cybersecurity risks. It concludes that harmonized standards, API-based integration, and tools for carbon reporting and green logistics are essential for building predictable, inclusive, and environmentally responsible trade corridors.
